Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9v7)

AtEdengrove Presbyterian Church, giving is an act of worship – a way to support the ministry and mission of the church. Through faithful generosity, we serve others, share God’s love, and build His kingdom. We are committed to being faithful stewards of the resources entrusted to us, ensuring that all financial gifts are managed wisely to support our ministry and outreach. Your generosity allows us to continue our work, support those in need, and grow together in faith. Your giving is personal and confidential. We also believe giving should be simple, secure, and flexible, so we’ve made it easy to donate in ways that best suit you—whether online, in person, or through other convenient options. Thank you for your willingness to give.

We Have Three Accounts

1. The GENERAL ACCOUNT covers the day-to-day running costs of the church, such as salaries, PCI and Presbytery fees and expenses ensuring we can continue our work and worship. It is our recommendation that 60% of your financial offering goes to the General Account – for example if you contribute £100 per month then £60 should be allocated to the General Account.

A list of works supported previously is included in our Annual Report. It is our recommendation that 20% of your financial offering goes to the Mission Account – for example if you contribute £100 per month then £20 should be allocated to the Mission Account.

How to Give

1.FREE WILL OFFERING ENVELOPES are distributed at the start of each calendar year and are available for collection by contacting our FWO Coordinator, Kenny Blaney. The envelope booklet includes envelopes for each of our three accounts and are designed for weekly contributions – but if giving monthly works better for you, that’s absolutely welcome and appreciated. You can securely place your donation in the offering box which is positioned on the pillar in the Welcome Centre. Please note, cheques should be made payable to “Edengrove Presbyterian Church”

2. A STANDING ORDER is a recurring arrangement to pay a fixed amount at regular intervals ensuring steady financial support for our church. It is a convenient, secure and easy way to give – without having to remember to give each time. You retain full control over your giving – amend or cancel your Standing Order at any time. To set up a standing order, simply follow the guidance from your bank via your internet banking or contact your bank and provide them with our church’s account details, along with the amount and frequency of your giving. To give by standing order you will need Edengrove Presbyterian Church bank details listed above. To give to each fund will require a separate Standing Order to be created. Important: Ensure your FWO Number and Name (e.g., “212 Smith AJ”) are included in the reference field of any donation

3. Giving by BANK TRANSFER is a secure and efficient way to support Edengrove. It provides flexibility, letting you give one-time donations or set up regular contribution at your convenience. It ensures your contributions to go directly to our ministry without delays or additional fees. It helps us sustain our work, serve the community, and continue our mission. To make a bank transfer, simply use your banking app or visit your bank to send your gift to our church’s account. You’ll need our account details, which you can find above. Important: Ensure your FWO Number and Name (e.g., “212 Smith AJ”) are included in the reference field of any donation.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a simple way to make your donation go even further—at no extra cost to you. If you’re a UK taxpayer, the church can claim an additional 25p for every £1 you give, helping to maximise the impact of your generosity. To enable us to claim Gift Aid on your contributions, please contact our FWO Co-Ordinator, Kenny Blaney for assistance.

What is my FWO Number?

If you give regularly, or are considering giving regularly to our work, we encourage you to give through a dedicated Free Will Offering Number. Providing your name and FWO Number when giving will ensure your gift is properly attributed, allowing the church to acknowledge your generosity and, where appropriate, maximise the impact of your generosity through eligible Gift Aid. If you do not have or know your FWO number, please speak with our FWO Coordinator, Kenny Blaney.
